In it’s simplest terms, payment processors are services you can use to process the payments you receive on your website. They may handle credit cards, debit cards, e-checks, etc. They save you from having to have a merchant account to process credit cards. Some will direct deposit into your bank account, some will send you checks. Some are instant (PayPal), some take a few weeks (ClickBank), some take longer.
